Limestone waterfall and pond — Mohawk River Country Club

Landscape Installation

A month and a half on-site at Mohawk River Country Club in Rexford, NY, building a massive limestone waterfall and pond from what had been a hole in the ground. Every piece of limestone placed by hand, with creative effects worked into the wall: stone seats, sculpted ledges, and bridges for wedding photos.

Scope

The club’s grounds team had dug out the pond footprint. From there, Mitchell and the crew worked with the excavator operator from the outside of the pond and built the limestone edge, course by course, around the entire perimeter. The waterfall itself climbed several feet of stacked limestone, with sculpted seats and accents worked into the design as the wall went up.

We also built stone bridges around the pond. They’re now a regular fixture in the club’s wedding photography.

The proud detail

We took what was just a hole in the ground and made a beautiful man-made pond with limestone edges and a massive limestone waterfall. … It helped them sell weddings on a much larger scale.

Just outside our standard service area? We’ll still travel for the right project — ask us.
